Mr. Thuan brings over 13 years of experience, having worked for the People’s Court of Ho Chi Minh City. During his tenure, he spent more than 8 years as the assistant to the Chief Judge of the Civil Division. In March 2003, Mr. Thuan embarked on his career as a professional lawyer, leaving the Court. He initially joined Vilaf – Hong Duc, where he served as a key litigator for over 5 years before transitioning to Phuoc & Partners in October 2008. In April 2009, he became a Partner at P&P. In August 2019, Mr. Thuan, along with 7 other P&P Partners, established Global Vietnam Lawyers.

With a broad range of expertise, Mr. Thuan is highly regarded for his skills in labor, commercial, maritime, insurance, construction, and criminal trial and appellate. Throughout his litigation practice, he has handled various notable cases, including defending a renowned soft drink manufacturer in labor disputes, managing a dispute among members of a 5-star hotel joint venture, representing a foreign contractor in resolving a construction dispute for a high-class housing project, handling maritime cases involving the arrest and release of seagoing vessels, representing a well-known foreign insurer in subrogation cases, enforcing foreign arbitral awards in Vietnam for top cotton and feed traders, and overseeing numerous debt collection cases for both local and overseas clients such as HSBC Vietnam, Shell Vietnam, Basf Vietnam, AG Processing Inc., Olam International, and VNG.

Mr. Thuan has also represented local and international clients in various arbitration cases, including high-value M&A disputes. In addition to his litigation work, he provides comprehensive legal advice in employment and labor, maritime and shipping, insurance, contracts, civil, family, criminal law, and other commercial matters. Mr. Thuan has made significant contributions to Saigon Economic Times Magazine and other local newspapers, where he has shared his insights on diverse commercial issues.

As a native Vietnamese speaker, Mr. Thuan is fluent in English, further facilitating effective communication with clients.
